About InSigns USA

The InSigns USA project was launched as a project requirement of National Interest Waiver (EB-2 NIW) of the United States of America, a visa process that allows professionals with advanced degrees obtain a Green Card (permanent residence).

Created by Julian and Mateo Marulanda, twin brothers from Colombia, both have Master of Arts studies in VFX & Motion Graphics, Bachelor of Arts in Visual Communication, and Technical College in Graphic Design. An interest they have always had is related to contributing significantly to educational equity and inclusion. They both grew up with a family member who is deaf and from there they took ownership of this topic.

From the concern of illiteracy among persons who are deaf arose the idea of creating and designing the InSigns USA program, urged by a fact that few seem to be interested in members of the population who are deaf having fewer opportunities than hearing people do to access the educational system, obtain training in the labor field, find jobs, participate in cultural, social, political and economic life, as well as to take advantage of and enjoy the universe of written information and communication.

In this context, the project offers children with hearing disabilities in the United States, the InSigns USA program, a digital educational platform that facilitates their access to reading and writing, taking advantage of the potential of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT).
